Corporate wellness for Espeo Software

Workplace ergonomics audit and office massage - it sounds mysterious, although it is an activity that should be undertaken in every company, especially where employees spend a significant part of the day sitting.

At the invitation of Espeo Software, we conducted a lecture and an audit, as well as an office massage for over 40 employees of their Poznań office. Thanks to the conscious approach of the company's owners, we had the opportunity to improve the alarming statistics. They say that only every hundredth workplace in Poland complies with the principles of ergonomics.

And why is this so disturbing? Working for many hours in an incorrect position may cause:

Degeneration of the spine, shoulder joints, fingers and wrists Pain in the back and peripheral joints Multi-level discopathy of the spine resulting from chronic overload of intervertebral discs Contractures of paraspinal muscles, upper and lower limbs Tingling, numbness, limb weakness Headache and dizziness, eye pain Circulatory disorders

What is office massage?

Office massage, also called workplace massage, is a form of therapeutic massage that is performed in the workplace. Therefore, massage is usually performed by physical therapists in an office or other corporate environment. Office massage is intended to relieve muscle tension, reduce stress and improve the general well-being of employees during the working day.

Here are some characteristics of office massage:

  1. Short duration. Office massage sessions typically last between 10 and 30 minutes. Thanks to this, employees can count on quick relief from muscle tension and stress. Importantly, employees do not have to leave the workplace for a long time.
  2. Special techniques. Office massage uses special massage techniques that are tailored to the needs of employees performing office work. Typically, physiotherapists use relaxation techniques that aim to relax the muscles of the neck, back, shoulders and hands.
  3. Ergonomic chairs or tables. Office massage can be performed on specially designed massage chairs or on massage tables.
  4. Improved well-being. Regular office massage sessions contribute to improving employee well-being, reducing stress and improving work efficiency. Therefore, it is possible to relieve muscle tension and reduce pain.
  5. Health promotion in the workplace. This type of massage is one of the ways to promote a healthy lifestyle in the workplace. Therefore, the employer can contribute to increasing the productivity of its employees and their better well-being.

Office massage is an increasingly popular form of workplace therapy because it can provide numerous benefits to both employees and employers. By providing employees with access to massage sessions in the workplace, companies can gain employee loyalty, increase work efficiency and improve the workplace atmosphere.
